Car ban and winter rules in Brøndby Golf Club

Car bans are introduced to protect the track in the winter season against unnecessary wear and compression, as there is very often hoar frost, freezing weather or very damp/snowy tracks due to sleet and rain.

When winter rules are introduced, they will apply until 31 March 2025.

  • Prohibition on driving golf carts (trolleys), buggies, monobuggies and scooters.
  • Use of winter tees (playing mats) throughout the general area.
  • There are games from summer/winter tees where you have to tee up.
  • There are games for summer/winter greens.

  • Price DKK 300.00, which helps to cover the repair of winter damage (just as the price for "free" balls covers the operation of the driving range).
  • We encourage everyone who can, to use a carrier bag.

Winter rules - general

If there is frost/hoarfrost on the grass, you must play to provisional greens on all holes. This applies for the entire round even if it immediately appears that the frost disappears. The putting green is a good indication of whether there is still frost out on the course. So if that is the case, there is also still frost on the pitch. Remember that the frost does not disappear everywhere at the same time.
Even if you pass a green that is frost-free, there may well be frost elsewhere on the course. Greens must not be walked on when the weather is freezing.

If playing from temporary tees to summer greens, handicaps can still be regulated. Both Ladies and Men play from the same tee location and are allocated strokes according to the conversion tables 43 Ladies and 51 Men.

If your ball is on a green and cannot be reached without stepping on the green, the ball is lost and must be left.

We are fully aware that closed greens and tees are a nuisance. We hope that you will remember that this is done to take care of the pitch so that we can play on a pitch that is in very good condition for the rest of the season.
