Golf Experten A/S was founded in 1993 by Kim Johansen. He opened the first golf shop under the name Århus Golf Center in a backyard in Højbjerg, Aarhus. It was the year Colin Montgomery won his first Order Of Merit. There were only 93 courses in Denmark, and it was 3 years before Thomas Bjørn won his first tournament, which slowly helped kick-start a growing interest in the sport of golf in Denmark.

It has truly been a long time and the sport of golf in Denmark has moved on quite a bit - and so has Golf Experten. In 1997, Århus Golf Center became Golf Experten and in the coming years stores were opened in Gentofte and Esbjerg. The first 3 stores are now closed, but in the meantime Tilst (2006), Aalborg (2007), Hørsholm (2007), Greve (2011), Kolding (2012) and Herning (2012) have been added. In October 2018, Golf Experten took over competitor Pro Golf Scandinavia and its 6 stores + webshop. After the merger, Golf Experten now has 8 stores, as Odense and Herlev are new locations.

The 8 stores, together with www.golfexperten.dk, are now Denmark's largest retail chain within golf equipment and clothing.

Over the years, we have serviced many Danish golfers – beginners as well as seasoned ones. Fortunately, many of our customers return. The relationship with our good, loyal customers is our raison d'être, and we therefore naturally try to take great care of them. Among other things, by registering in our free Benefits Club, which has more than 70,000 members, all of whom receive a number of services - most recently a very attractive bonus scheme.

With Kim Johansen at the helm, Golf Experten has not only managed to survive but also grow in a market where the number of Danish golfers has not increased in recent years. We are very proud of that, because it means that the things we do in everyday life are, by far, the right ones. The increasing competition from foreign webshops is constantly intensifying, but that only keeps us even more on the brands in terms of providing the best service combined with some good offers on the right selection.
